Fashion flashbacks: Putting my best foot forward

If you’re a regular reader of this here style blog, you know that I’ve been going through funny style blogger poses and quirks (from these articles herehere, and here). And this past weekend, while going through some old photo albums… I realized I have been doing some of these poses my. entire. life. I’ve highlighted below one pose I saw over and over in old pics, the patented “cross your legs” pose, which kind of combines the “Cross your legs & contemplate your shoes” pose from this article, and the “Best Foot Forward” pose from this one. Obviously, I have perfected this pose over the years, as you can see a version of it in practically every new post on this blog. ;)

Enjoy! (And yes, grainy picture alert.)

Already, at age 3, working that sassy pose! With my older brother Jason.

Age 9 or 10, working that pose like there’s no tomorrow.

Just turned 15, well into my denim overalls and shortalls phase. Ah, the ’90s.

Awww, yeah, striking a pose at my senior prom. I loooooved that navy dress, y’all.

Ha, love this collection of photos! I have my standby pose too – in fact, someone in middle school pointed out my signature “Kate” pose! So I try to vary it up a little these days, but I always find myself defaulting to that pose!

What a fun look back! :) I need to learn some different poses … but I always end up defaulting to the good ol’ hand on the hip when I’m short on time.

Thanks, Carri3! :) I totally go for the ‘hand on hip’ pose, too. A good way I’ve found to get a lot of shots in a short amount of time is when my husband uses the sports setting on the camera, and I just starting walking back and forth (or, more likely, twirling). And when I’m in action, I don’t think so much about the posing. :)
