The latest IFB style challenge is a unique one: an all-shoes-one-photo challenge. I knew this one would take some work, so I took to Facebook for some feedback. The verdict? YES!
Behold my personal shoe love:
Thank goodness the temperature was cooler this morning so I went with an outside set-up. Sam was perched on the stairs landing to stand guard for my precious shoes — and be ready to explain to any passersby that it was an art project (we live in Portland and in an art community building, so that wouldn’t raise any eyebrows). No one came by, except for a neighborhood cat and dog who were quite intrigued. A fun morning!
And now I have some shoes to put back up…

Thanks, Laura!
… wedges, wedges, wedges…
I saw this prompt on IFB but don’t think I’ll have time to manage such a photo shoot. I love yours, though! What a great set-up!
Thanks Erin! Also helps that I’m off work this week
Love your wedges!

Thanks so much, Ana Sofia — such a high compliment! I do try to have a well-rounded shoe collection, where every shoe has a function (other than looking cute, of course!)

That’s a great idea to label arrange and label your shoes by style. Thanks for sharing!
Thanks, Karina!
I didn’t realize until I saw the pics that I had automatically organized them by style/function. That’s why I’m a librarian for life — the urge to organize is within my soul and subconscious.

Shhh, don’t let my husband know. Oh wait…
Jen, this is fantastic. I want to do this but I am afraid to find out how many I actually hoard. Love this project from ifb. I love how you said that Sam stood by to protect your shoes…chuckling! I am going to add you to my blog roll on my front page too. thank you! dawn suitcase vignettes xo
Thanks, Dawn, for stopping by! I counted 45 pairs total, which actually don’t take up a lot of space in the closet. Every pair (except for the boots) fit into 1 1/2 hanging storage bags off 2 closet doors. And all of these shoes get lots of use, as I often remind Sam!
Oh my goodness! You have so many shoes! I can’t imagine how long it look for you to get all of these shoes on this staircase.
Beautiful collection.

Actually, it didn’t take much more than a 1/2 hour, thanks to roomy recycling bags. I just transferred the shoes from the closet hanging bags to the recycling bags, so they were pretty much in order to then arrange on the stairs. A few snaps, and then reverse the order. I am obviously in the right profession — we librarians are great at organizing!
